On January 4, FORBESCHINA released its first list of 2012 - China Up & Comers, and this is the 8th survey carried out by FORBE on China small and medium-sized enterprises and it is the first time that the public companies are separated from the private companies for selection and ranking. It is reported that FORBESCHINA makes research and selection on more than 10,000 SMEs, of which the sales is between 5 millions and 1 billions (RMB) and the main businesses are in China mainland. FORBESCHINA also makes ranking according to growing indexes (sales growth rate and profit growth rate), return rate indexes (return on total assets and Return on net assets), profit index (Net profit margin) and scale indexes (gross sales and net income). After a lot of industry and enterprise surveys as well as interviews with some excellent enterprises, 100 enterprises each for the public companies and private companies are selected.
